Tonight, as I gaze at our Christmas tree,
I think of the days that used to be,
I remember a bygone winter day
When I took part in a Christmas play.
I was a shepherd who followed a star
While others were wise men who came from afar.
It seems just as vivid as yesterday
When I saw the Christ Child on the hay.
The Christ Child, born to save us from sin,
On a night when there was no room in the inn.
I remember rehearsing, and learning by heart
The words I would say, when playing my part.
Memories of Christmas… are always sublime.
Growing more dearer.. . with passing of time.
My life was enriched on a cold winter day,
When I took part in a Christmas play.
