“My Mother”

I could speak a million words,
But never say
All that my mother meant to me.
I could walk a million miles
But never stray
From what she meant for me to be.

Hers was a life
Of toil and strife,
But with faith in God above;
She did not fall,
But conquered all
With the strength of a mother’s love.

Her sunny smile
Made life worthwhile,
Her heart was full of song.
She made each day
Seem bright and gay,
She kept us from all wrong.

The years have gone,
But dreams live on
With memories divine.
I will never know
How much I owe
To that wonderful mother of mine.
