I’m keeping it simple today — it is Monday, after all. Enjoy “Christmas Sonnet.”
Oh! Christmas moon, as through the silent night
Your silver beams enhance new-fallen snow,
I drift in dreams beyond the candleglow
Of other years … to home fires … burning bright.
My heart responds as magic from afar
Brings Christmas memories that always thrill;
As shepherds, standing on a moonlit hill,
Responded to the glory of a star.
My heart recalls the greatest story told,
The Christmas Story … dear to men on earth,
The wondrous story of the Savior’s birth.
I walk along … on through the night so cold,
Thrilling to every Christmas song and chime.
My heart is warm … for it is Christmas time.
